MSGR. FEDERICO BRITTO
PASTOR’S CORNER
November 2, 2025
May Jesus Christ, who leads us to eternal life, be with you!
We have entered the month of November, a time of remembrance and celebration. During the sacred month, we remember the souls of our deceased loved ones and pray that they rest in the loving presence of our Lord, November can be emotional time for many of us, as we offer prayers for the repose of their souls and hold their memory close to our hearts.
November is also the month we remember the rich history of Black Catholics and their contributions to the church. I encourage you to look up famous Black Catholics who contributed so much and who made a better life for us. On a personal note, I am often reminded of the contributions and gifts of such people like Bishop Harold Perry, Fr. Clarence Rivers, Sr. Thea Bowman, Fr. Augustus Tolton, Julia Greely, Sr. Cora Marie Billings and Fr. Raymond Emmons, just to name a few. These men and women blazed a path for the future priests, religious sisters and lay Catholics.
We are entering the seasons of celebration and giving; time to rejoice in the changing of seasons and the gift of time itself. So we celebrate , we pause to recognize the many blessings we have received; our faith, our church family, our loved ones, our friendships and so much more. Let us also take a moment to stop, breathe and pray, honoring the memory of those who have gone before us and cherish the love they have left within us. “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” - Psalm 107:1
There is an ongoing vision and goal for our parish, how can we keep our parish sustained, vibrant, viable and visionary. We are Disciples on a mission; we must keep the fire burning.
Our readings for today’s Mass reminds us that our Faith in God and in the Resurrection and in the Redemption, Jesus won for us assures us of the promise of eternal life in the kingdom.
Peace and Blessings,
Msgr. Britto
